Trauma-Informed Therapy

“We don’t actually get rid of our pain, trauma, or grief. Instead we build capacity to coexist with it in a way where presence, safety, and joy can also take place.”
Helping individuals process trauma involves not asking someone what’s wrong with them but rather what happened to them. As a trauma-informed psychotherapist I contextualize treatment based on your history and triggers, carefully taking into account the impact of what has happened to you and going at your own pace.

Healing happens when you allow your stories to be seen and felt and when you allow your brain and body to access and release the emotion and pain that has been held captive. Therapy will help you gain clarity and understanding of your past and its connection to the present, identify core areas in which you feel stuck, and regain a sense of trust and safety in the world.

Part of what makes a situation traumatic is not talking about it. Talking reduces trauma symptoms.
